Add audio clips

Add audio clips to a movie created in iMovie using iTunes, iMovie Sound Effects, audio CDs, or recorded voice tracks. Here’s how:

iTunes:
1. Locate in iTunes the song or sound file you wish to add to your iMovie
2. Position the playhead where the song or sound file is to be inserted
3. Click once within the iMovie audio track where the sound is to be inserted
4. Click the Place at Playhead button in the Audio palette
5. The name of the clip will be displayed in the selected audio track

iMovie Sound Effects:
1. Click on iMovie – Audio – iMovie Sound Effects
2. Click and drag the name of the clip into the audio track

Audio CDs:
1. Insert the CD into your Mac’s CD drive
2. After iMovie switches to Audio CD mode, query the Internet CD database to get a list of track names
3. Display the CD track names in the Audio panel
4. Click on the track name
5. Click on the Place at Playhead button

Recorded voice tracks:
1. Position the iMovie playhead where you wish to begin recording
2. Click in the audio track where you’d like to insert the audio
3. Click the Record button at the bottom of the Audio pane
4. To stop recording, click the Record button again
