Snyder has a B.S. degree in radio-TV-film from UW-Oshkosh (1982). He was named “outstanding senior” at UW-Oshkosh and served as president of the broadcasting honor society, AERho. In 1980-81, Snyder was an anchor reporter for WOSH-WYLT radio in Oshkosh. He also worked at WBAY-TV in Green Bay as a reporter and photographer. His experience includes time at KVAL-TV in Eugene, Ore., as an anchor, reporter, and producer. Snyder earned his Ph.D. in mass communication from Ohio University in 1989. He has been teaching fulltime since then; before coming to UW-Platteville in 2000, Snyder taught at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Snyder’s publications include articles on video news releases, the Freedom of Information Act, children’s television, visual literacy theory for TV news, cable access television, and use of web portals for college courses.
His interests away from work include faith, family, the Green Bay Packers, but not always in that order. He has been married to Victoria for 23 years and has two children: Ashley and Alex. |
